Why is it green laser ,not red ?

Just about everyone has a red laser pointer ,But I am pretty sure you will abandon it when you see the green laser .The green laser pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times )than a red laser pointer,Because of its unusual color ,it is much more noticeable,I mean the 532nm wavelength green laser is obviously superior to a 635nm wavelength red laser ,and unlike red laser,The green beam itself can be seen in the in mid-air in the dark conditions ,not just the beam dot.
